Nurturing You, While You Nurture Your Baby
Hello, I’m Elana
My Approach
As your postpartum doula, I bring a deep understanding of the joys and challenges of early parenthood. My approach is rooted in compassion, respect, and personalized care. I am here to listen to your needs, answer your questions, and provide non-judgmental guidance. Whether it’s assisting with newborn care, offering household support, or simply providing a compassionate ear, I am dedicated to being a reliable and nurturing presence in your life.
My Experience
I bring a wealth of experience to my work as a doula. I’ve had the privilege of supporting over 100 families, and I’m the proud mother of three adult children and grandmother to two beautiful granddaughters. Before becoming a doula, I was a preschool teacher for 9 years and then founded and ran Little Garden Preschool for 16 years. That work gave me invaluable insight into early childhood development and education, which is knowledge I now draw on to help families create nurturing, enriching environments for their little ones so that both parents and children can thrive.
In My Spare Time
Originally from Israel, I love spending time with my family and my two dogs and cat. During the summer months, I enjoy camping and exploring the beautiful outdoor spaces of the Pacific Northwest. I also have a deep passion for painting and gardening, which are creative outlets that bring me immense joy and serve as sources of relaxation and self-expression.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
I currently provide postpartum doula support during daytime hours and do not do overnight care. Many families especially appreciate my early morning care from 5am–10am, giving parents a chance to sleep while I tend to their little one. My hours are flexible, and together we can create a schedule that works best for your family.
-
Some of the things I do at a postpartum doula visit:
- Answer questions and provide guidance on postpartum recovery, newborn care, feeding, sibling adjustment, and more.- Care for your baby so you can rest, shower, spend time with your older child, or simply take a break.
- Support you through feeding challenges with practical tips and reassurance.
- Help with baby’s bath time and keeping the nursery organized.
- Tidy up around the house by loading the dishwasher, doing laundry, and sanitizing bottles and pump parts.
- I love preparing nourishing snacks or meals for you. Cooking is one of my favorite ways to care for clients, and I enjoy trying out new recipes.
- For families with pets, I can offer tips and techniques to help your pet adjust to having a newborn in the home.
-
My postpartum doula services are $50 per hour, with a minimum shift of 4 hours and a maximum of 6 hours.

Ashley:
“Elana was everything I never knew I needed in the days following birth; gentle, supportive, and beyond helpful. Whether it was keeping us nourished, offering her support with nursing, or looking after our baby, she always knew how to help and always made the most of her time with us. We joke that she is our family’s adopted grandma because she so seamlessly folded into our family during a time of immense transition.”
From the Hearts of Families I’ve Supported
Christie:
“Elena felt like the perfect person coming into our lives at the perfect time. She fits into our household so seamlessly. I know our little one is in the best hands with Elena. Every parent wishes they had an extra set of arms, especially at this stage, and Elena was that for me. She allowed me to step away and actually take time for myself, and know my baby was safe, to truly recharge, and come back the best version of myself. She has the most patient, nurturing, and reassuring presence. ”
Elizabeth:
“During our postpartum we worked with Elana who was such a joyful, calming, and helpful presence in our home. She helped us over multiple visits and was always proactive and effective in not only completing tasks we asked her to help with but also finding other ways to be helpful. She also taught us so many helpful methods in baby care and breastfeeding. I wish everyone could have an Elana in their life to help them with their transition of bringing a baby home!”
